Everyone loves an underdog story.
The Cardinals and Braves enter the postseason pretty evenly matched, mostly due to Atlanta’s barrage of injuries that the Cardinals need to take advantage of if they want to advance.
Ender Inciarte is still nursing the hamstring injury that’s had him on the IL for over a month now, and Freddie Freeman, while playing with the bone spur in his right elbow, has seen a significant dip in performance. If St. Louis sees a strong, consistent start (or two, perhaps) out of Jack Flaherty and the rest of their pitching staff follows in suit, it could be enough to overpower the Braves offense.
